About

Venezuela's wild places, honestly.

A photography-led, source-cited eco-tourism guide for Venezuela's national parks and natural attractions.

VenezuelaEcológica covers what most Venezuela travel writing doesn't: the actual logistics of visiting Salto Ángel, climbing Roraima, kitesurfing Los Roques, photographing Catatumbo lightning, road-tripping the Gran Sabana. Real costs. Real tour operators we'd send a friend to. Real photos. Real warnings.

Most online content about Venezuelan ecotourism is either ancient (written in the 2000s when tourism was booming and never updated), recycled (every "Top 10 Venezuela travel" list pulls from the same sources), or generic (drone footage with affiliate links and no actual visit). We're trying to be the opposite — current, specific, opinionated.

Editorial standards

We only cover what we've actually visited or what we'd send a competent traveler friend to with confidence. Every destination page is updated as conditions change — tour operators come and go, posadas change ownership, roads get repaired or worse. We date-stamp every guide and update them.

We don't aggregate Google reviews and we don't pad with stock images. Every photograph on this site is original.

Affiliate links are disclosed. We may earn commission if you book a tour or hotel through some of the links here. This never affects which operators we list, recommend, or rank.

Conservation focus

Beyond tourism, we report on the environmental threats facing Venezuela's most important ecosystems: the illegal gold mining in the Arco Minero del Orinoco, deforestation in the Venezuelan Amazon, oil pollution in Lake Maracaibo, and the conservation pressures on Canaima National Park. See our Conservation section.
